Since 1970, Superior Beverage has been a family owned and operated beverage distributor of beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, and other beverage products in the Chicagoland area. We service our customers out of our 135,000 square foot temperature controlled warehouse, located in Montgomery, IL. We continually meet our customers’ needs through our total beverage portfolio approach, operational excellence, and market insights.

Our History

Our entrepreneurial spirit dates back to the founder, Daniel C. Deufel. Today, Superior Beverage’s vision is set on meeting tomorrow’s beverage landscape.

1970

Daniel C. Deufel purchased E. G. MaGill & Sons Beverage. He changed the name to Superior Beverage in October of 1970.

1986

Superior Beverage moved to its current location, 1070 Orchard Rd. Montgomery, IL.

1993

Responding to the growth of our portfolio, Superior Beverage expands its operations by building a 26,500 sq ft expansion onto its Montgomery location. 

2004

Superior Beverage doubled its warehouse with a 64,000 sq ft addition, bringing total warehouse space to its current footprint of 126,600 sq ft.

2006

Responding to the momentum of craft brands - Superior Beverage forms its first craft beer partnership with Goose Island Brewery.

2009

Superior Beverage launches a non-alcohol division with the introduction of brands such as Nestle and Arizona Tea.

2013

Superior Beverage welcomes nationally recognized Craft Brewery Founders Brewing Co. into its portfolio. 

2020

Superior Beverage expands its local and regional craft brands by welcoming Buckledown, Toppling Goliath, 18th Street, 4 Hands, Deschutes Breweries plus other crafts.
